Bio-Rad XMark microplate spectrophotometer can be used for high-throughput photometric assays, ranging from UV to infrared (200 – 1000 nm).
Instrument control is managed by Microplate Manager® Software, MPM6, running on an Windows XP computer.

Because running Windows XP, the computer is technically air gapped. That is, it is not connected to the university’s Wi-Fi network and has no access to the internet. Files are downloaded from the computer to USB thumbdrive (see multi colored hub resting on the xMark cover).
