  • accommodates 24 x 1.5/2.0 mL tubes at speeds up to 15,000 rpm (21,130 x g).

3. What about protocols that call for spin at refrigerated (4 °C)?

  • This instrument cannot actively maintain 4°C during a run. However, you can achieve 4°C centrifugation by pre-cooling the rotor. Remove the rotor from the centrifuge and place it in a freezer for 30 – 60 minutes.
  • For quick-spin runs only. Perform short centrifugation cycles (e.g., 2–5 minutes).
  • Better option: use the eppendorf Centrifuge 5810 R.

Rotors we need

FA-45-48-11 Rotor

  • A-2-MTP for microtiter plates, incl. wind shield, to hold, 2 x MTP, PCR, deepwell plates, with 2 buckets and lid;

FA-45-24-11 (Aerosol-tight)

  • 24-place rotor (1.5/2.0 mL). Using adapters, this rotor supports individual 0.2 mL PCR tubes.
